About the Role
A dynamic and fast-paced recruitment/payroll operation is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee end-to-end payroll and billing activities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership capability, excellent systems knowledge, and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll and billing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Manually import employee, client, and placement data
- Resolve payroll and billing queries from internal teams, contractors, and clients
- Adjust and re-bill invoices, ensuring correct rates and costings
- Conduct portal rate comparisons to validate pricing and margins
- Support vendor and Umbrella company management, including compliance checks
- Act as a key contact for queries and data issues
- Liaise with accountants on payroll costings, invoicing, and reconciliations
- Produce payroll-related reporting and management information
- Manage and respond to government-related payroll queries in line with UK legislation
- Design and implement payroll rules, controls, and validation checks
- Develop and maintain macro-enabled Excel templates to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Provide day-to-day supervision of the payroll team
- Deliver training, coaching, and performance monitoring
- Support performance improvement initiatives and capacity planning
Requirements
Completed Matric
5 – 10 years’ experience in Payroll
Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll and billing processes
Advanced Excel skills, including macros and complex templates
