To work as a key member of our technology team, responsible for the management, administration, and optimisation of our Unix, Solaris, and Connect Direct environments, ensuring maximum availability, security, and performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certifications in UNIX/Solaris: Solrais Certified System Administrator or UNIX System Administrator. 
• Linux Certification, like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Nerworking Ceritifcations: CCNA, CISSP or Comptia+
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on system engineering experience, specifically with UNIX and Solaris environments.

Technical Skills:

• Proven proficiency in UNIX/Solaris systems administration.
• Demonstrated experience in administering Connect Direct (a significant advantage).
• Strong scripting skills (Shell, Perl, etc.) for automation.
• A solid understanding of networking fundamentals and security protocols.
• Familiarity with backup, recovery, and performance tuning solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
As our ideal candidate, you will be responsible for:

• System Administration: Managing and maintaining UNIX and Solaris operating systems, performing regular updates, patches, and proactive monitoring.
• Connect Direct Management: Administering and configuring Connect Direct (NDM) for secure file transfer operations and implementing automation scripts.
• Infrastructure Security: Implementing security measures, managing user access, and maintaining compliance with security policies.
• Resilience & Recovery: Developing and executing comprehensive backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity.
• Performance Optimisation: Analysing system metrics, tuning configurations, and making recommendations for improvements.
• Collaboration & Support: Working with cross-functional teams to support deployments and provide technical guidance.
