About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at an upmarket business hotel in Pretoria’s Diplomatic Quarter. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving food strategy, managing costs, and delivering exceptional culinary experiences for international travelers and local corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Standardize and elevate food offerings across all outlets to ensure a consistent, high-standard product.
- Oversee the end-to-end culinary delivery for large-scale conferences, government functions, and private events (up to 300+ pax).
- Maintain absolute accountability for the Food & Beverage Gross Profit.
- Implement aggressive waste management, meticulous menu costing, and strict procurement controls to meet monthly budget targets.
- Lead a high-performance culture through structured training and mentorship.
Requirements
- Minimum 58 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, 4-star hotel environment.
- Proven track record in “High-Volume/High-Quality” environments.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and Excel.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large, diverse team in a high-pressure, fast-turnover environment.
Qualifications
Professional Culinary Diploma/Degree from a recognized institution is required.
