About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic kitchen staff member to join our team in Pretoria. As an integral part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining a clean environment, and working efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, washing, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with health and safety standards
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Assist chefs with cooking and plating during peak periods
- Monitor and restock kitchen supplies when needed
- Dispose of waste safely and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (advantageous but not always required)
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene
