About the Role
IT Ridge Technologies is seeking an experienced Legal Specialist to provide comprehensive legal support to our business unit. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the company’s strategy, risk appetite, and products, as well as excellent communication skills to maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal support to the business unit, ensuring timely, sound legal advice aligned with the companys strategy and risk appetite.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of business unit products, channels, and features.
- Produce written legal opinions, undertake research, and stay updated on legislative developments.
- Maintain collegial relations with the Legal Department and keep the Legal Manager informed of key developments.
Requirements
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Draft, review, and interpret legal documents, contracts, and policies.
- Provide advice on compliance with local and international laws and support the design of compliant products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission as an attorney or advocate in South Africa.
- 57 years of post-admission legal experience, ideally in the credit, banking, or financial services industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools.
- Experience in insurance law, litigation, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
