Job Summary

Job Title: Medical Receptionist (Afternoon Shift) Location: Wierdapark, Centurion Employer: General Medical Practice Start Date: 1 July 2025 Position Overview: Our client, a well-established General Practitioner based in Wierdapark, Centurion, is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join their team. This is an afternoon shift position, ideally suited for someone with experience in medical administration and a passion for patient service. Key Responsibilities: Answer and manage calls via the practice switchboard professionally. Schedule and manage patient appointments using Elixir Live, including coordinating external referrals. Monitor and respond to emails received via the practice’s administrative email account. Send appointment reminders (calls and SMS) to patients. Greet patients warmly and collect personal and medical information. Process payments and issue receipts electronically. Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems. Coordinate and manage medical aid authorisations. Complete and submit PMB application forms and other relevant medical aid documentation. Perform general administrative and reception duties as required by the employer. Requirements: Matric certificate (Grade 12). Previous experience working in a medical practice. Proficiency in Elixir Live software is essential. Fluent in at least two languages (bilingual). Strong administrative and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Professional, courteous, and able to work well under pressure. Team player with a positive attitude. Non-smoker. Tertiary education in a related field will be advantageous but is not mandatory. Working Hours Monday to Friday: 13:00 – 18:00 Remuneration Market-related salary.
