About the Role
Our client, a leading automotive company in Pretoria North, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Professional to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong focus on Industrial Relations and MIBCO compliance, with a proven track record of driving best-practice HR and IR frameworks in a unionised environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all industrial relations strategies and processes within the plant
- Ensure full compliance with MIBCO agreements, collective agreements, and labour legislation
- Represent the organisation at CCMA and DRC proceedings
- Manage disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and dispute resolution
- Provide expert IR guidance and training to management
- Maintain strong relationships with unions and ensure constructive engagement
- Lead and manage the HR function and team within the plant
- Act as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on all HR and IR matters
- Drive HR strategies aligned with business and production objectives
- Promote transformation and inclusive workplace practices
- Oversee HR reporting, analytics, and workforce insights
- Track and report on HR KPIs and Balanced Scorecards
- Participate in plant forums and operational meetings
- Lead HR-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process
- Support workforce planning aligned to operational requirements
- Ensure effective onboarding, employee integration, and exit management
- Support and guide skills development and training initiatives
- Facilitate IR-related training and capability building for line management
Requirements
Relevant Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field
Minimum 5 years’ HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior/managerial capacity
Strong, hands-on experience with MIBCO Bargaining Council processes
In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, etc.)
Demonated experience in managing unionised environments
Qualifications
Formal education/certifications in Human Resources or related field.
