Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities Supports the Executive Chef in the daily operation and work, Work according to the menu specifications by the Executive Chef Always keep work area in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the hotel, as per FCS standards. Control food stock and food cost in the pastry kitchen. Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different venues, pastry related. Execute banqueting functions and Kingsley breakfasts, lunches and or dinners Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques Instruct and lead subordinates through their daily requirements in food preparation and actively take part in set up of buffets and special functions Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control Employment Details Employment Type: Permanent Employment Industry: Hospitality and Tourism Work space preference: Work Onsite Ideal work province: Gauteng Ideal work city: Pretoria Salary bracket: R 15000 – 20000 Drivers License: CODE B (Car) Own car needed: No

Job Summary

Duties: Oversee the daily production of desserts, pastries and artisanal breads, ensuring consistent quality and presentation to meet the standards. Demonstrate the ability to handle baking volumes during peak periods, efficiently meeting the demands of guests. Ensure a steady supply of fresh pastries and breads Efficiently manage multiple tasks, including pastry production and inventory management Plan to meet demand and maintain smooth operations. Demonstrate quick thinking and problem-solving skills to address any challenges that arise during baking or service. Create innovative and seasonal pastry menus Uphold the highest standards of pastry quality, ensuring that all products meet standards. Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, sanitation standards, and food handling practices. Requirements: Grade 12 Formal qualifications. At least 3 4 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant. Exceptional baking skills Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and inspire staff. Ability to work under pressure and deliver exceptional results during busy periods. Multi-tasking abilities and excellent organizational skills to manage pastry production and staff effectively. Teaching and training abilities to develop the skills of junior pastry chefs and bakery staff. Creativity and passion for pastry arts Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
