Job Description
Main Purpose:
To ensure that manufactured products meet company and customer quality specifications. This may also include checking and testing materials and parts delivered from external suppliers.
Key Performance Areas:
• QAP (Quality Assurance Procedures): Define and ensure compliance to quality standards and procedures on all projects
• QAC (Quality Assurance Checklists): Ensure that quality assurance checklists are adequate, relevant, and adhered to on all projects
• QCP (Quality Control Plans): Ensure all projects have relevant quality control plans in place and that they are implemented and adhered to right through the project life cycle
• FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing): Perform internal and external factory acceptance tests in order to ensure compliance to client specifications and legal requirements
• EPC (Engineering Project Control): Ensure that the following is in place and adhered to in order to ensure proper project control:
oDesign change notification documentation
oDesign/Technical query documentation
oEngineering /Manufacturing /Site Installations / Commissioning and QC Inspections (internal and external)
oProject Quality reviews and action plans
oCommissioning and Handover documents/certificates
oImplementing quality standards defined by company processes and procedures
oAdherence to client standards and requirements
oAdherence to national standards, regulatory and statutory requirements
oResolving quality issues with customers and suppliers
oAnalysing test results and writing reports on their findings
oExpediting of fabricated/ manufactured equipment supplied/delivered to site
oPerform 3rd party QC inspections on behalf of clients, applicable to EPCM scopes
oReport writing
oSite quality audits and inspections
• Assist with internal/external audits
• Assist in conducting supplier evaluations/assessments
oAssist with maintaining company statutory and regulatory compliance/accreditations
o(ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, SANS 1973-1, SANS 1973-3)
Minimum Requirements:
• Technical Diploma (N6) or NQF equivalent (electrical or Instrumentation)
• Exposure to engineering and construction industry and at least 2 years’ QA/QC experience
• MV/LV Equipment knowledge and Testing methodology
• Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings (electric and mechanical)
• Working understanding of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, SANS 1973-1, SANS 1973-3, SANS 10142-1, SANS 10142-2 management system requirements
• Working knowledge of environmental, mine health and safety, and occupational health and safety requirements
• Understand the process approach to operations and management system implementation
• Preciseness and attention to detail
• Time management, planning, and prioritization
• Flexible and able to function effectively under pressure
• Knowledge of the use, application, understanding, calibration, and verification of monitoring and measuring equipment
• Good communicator
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Team player
