Senior Electronics Technician- Rietondale, Pretoria

We are seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of telemetry and IoT devices. This role requires strong practical electronics skills and a methodical approach to both technical tasks and related administrative processes. The successful candidate will also assist the Head Technician with production documentation and internal workflow management.

Key Responsibilities

Device Assembly & Build Support

Assemble telemetry hardware according to production standards.

Perform accurate soldering

Testing & Fault Diagnosis

Conduct functional and performance tests on all outgoing and returned units.

Identify faults, troubleshoot failures, and perform necessary repairs.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain comprehensive records of build processes, test results, and unit modifications.

Draft detailed reports for returned units to support client communications.

Admin & Workflow Assistance

Support the Head Technician with production planning, tracking, and inventory updates.

Help implement improvements to technical workflows and internal systems.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with operations, engineering and assembly staff to meet production targets and deadlines.

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and assist with R&D activities where relevant.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical diploma or certification in Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar field.

Proven experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and hardware testing.

Competence with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and basic diagnostic equipment.

Desirable Skills

Experience with IoT, telemetry, or low-power embedded systems.

Familiarity with component-level repair and rework.

Interest or background in conservation technology is a plus.

Organized, reliable, and able to manage documentation effectively.
