About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg, where you will play a critical role in driving operational finance excellence. As a key member of our operations team, you will have the opportunity to influence profitability and strategic decisions, while working in a collaborative environment with room for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and monitor product costing, margins, and variances
- Prepare and maintain standard costing models
- Perform cost analysis on raw materials, labour, and overheads
- Investigate and report on cost variances and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Conduct inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and cycle counts
- Partner with operations to identify cost-saving initiatives and efficiencies
- Support month-end processes, including journals and reporting
Requirements
- BCom Accounting (essential)
- Completed articles (SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA) (essential)
- 35 years experience in a cost accounting role within manufacturing (essential)
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (essential)
- Solid understanding of costing principles and inventory management (essential)
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail (essential)
