Queenstown: Abattoir Assistant / Supervisor – Meat Traders posted by Number Two Piggeries

• At least Grade 12 (Matric), relevant degree or diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in an abattoir, butchery or meat-processing environment will be an advantage, but not essential.
• Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and work with heavy carcasses in cold conditions.
• Willing and able to work shifts, overtime and Saturdays as required by production.
• Reliable transport to and from work and a strong attendance and timekeeping record.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a production team.
• High awareness of hygiene, food safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe, humane handling of animals and products.
