About the Role
Our client in the steel industry is urgently seeking an experienced Paint Supervisor / Coating Inspector to oversee surface preparation, mixing, coating, corrosion control, and inspection processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of industrial coatings, corrosion protection systems, and proven experience in the steel sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all surface preparation activities, including cleaning, blasting, and profiling.
- Supervise paint mixing, coating application, curing, and corrosion?control processes.
- Ensure correct coating and corrosion?protection systems are applied according to project specifications.
- Monitor environmental conditions and ensure compliance with coating and corrosion?control requirements.
- Conduct inspections before, during, and after coating application.
- Verify surface preparation standards, coating thickness, adhesion, curing, and corrosion?control effectiveness.
- Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Coordinate daily work activities with production teams.
- Ensure safety standards and PPE compliance at all times.
- Manage workflow, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Provide technical guidance to painters and assistants.
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience as a Paint or Coating Inspector in the steel industry.
- Strong corrosion control experience (mandatory).
- Coating Inspector Qualification (e.g., NACE, SAQCC, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in surface preparation, paint mixing, coating application, and corrosion?protection systems.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and coating data sheets.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality?driven mindset.
