About the Role
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Shaft Mine Overseer to join a well-established mining company based in the North West province. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all mining activities in a shaft mining operation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and achieving production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all mining activities in a shaft mining operation, including drilling, blasting, and loading of minerals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement production plans to achieve production targets.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and optimize production processes.
- Manage a team of mining personnel, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation related to mining activities.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Shaft logistics and operations of which 5 years must be in a Shift Supervisor/Shaft Foreman position in the mining industry.
- Proven experience in managing the logistics and associated responsibilities for shafts will be advantageous.
- Previous Mine Overseer experience in sinking environment will be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of underground mining processes and equipment.
- Understanding of relevant mining regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office applications.
