About the Role

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Shaft Mine Overseer to join a well-established mining company based in the North West province. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all mining activities in a shaft mining operation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and achieving production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all mining activities in a shaft mining operation, including drilling, blasting, and loading of minerals.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Develop and implement production plans to achieve production targets.
Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and optimize production processes.
Manage a team of mining personnel, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
Prepare and maintain reports and documentation related to mining activities.

Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Shaft logistics and operations of which 5 years must be in a Shift Supervisor/Shaft Foreman position in the mining industry.
Proven experience in managing the logistics and associated responsibilities for shafts will be advantageous.
Previous Mine Overseer experience in sinking environment will be advantageous.

Qualifications

Sound knowledge of underground mining processes and equipment.
Understanding of relevant mining regulations and safety standards.
