About the Role

Our client, PM Connection, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Payments Division on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business acquisition across South Africa and selected African markets, contributing to revenue growth and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and acquire new fintech clients across banks, retailers, PSPs, mobile money operators, digital lenders, and enterprise customers.
  • Develop and execute structured prospecting strategies, including cold calling, networking, LinkedIn outreach, and industry events.
  • Drive end-to-end sales cycles from lead generation through negotiation and contract closure.
  • Present and position payment and fintech solutions to senior decisionmakers and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across terminals, services, and emerging technologies.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships during the acquisition and onboarding phase. Maintain accurate CRM records and provide reliable pipeline and revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic growth initiatives. Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Marketing, Technical, Call Centre, and Production to ensure successful client onboarding.
