Job Summary

Minimum requirements for the role: A tertiary qualification in either supply chain or a related field is preferred but not essential. Previous experience having worked with stock and imports is essential for the role. Strong analytical and numerical skills must be able to calculate and problem solve without Excel. Good understanding of maths is essential for this role. Basic to intermediate Excel skills and experience working with formulas are essential. Basic understanding of how to cost a product is preferred. Basic understanding of shipping and lead-times is preferred but not essential as the company will train the person. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team are essential. Must be highly organised, pay attention to detail and be fast paced and able to work under pressure. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Managing the new product development process which includes enquiring about new products, receiving samples, preparing them for testing and testing them, preparing samples for customers and adding them to the companys offering. Managing multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion and provide regular, comprehensive feedback to management. Monitoring stock levels and liaising with international suppliers with regards to obtaining quotations, placing orders, dealing with projects and enquiring about customer complaints. Managing and coordinating all logistical aspects of shipments from the purchase order date to the point of goods receivable for imports. Liaising with freight forwarder regarding importing of products. Following up on shipment ETAs. Ensuring all relevant shipping supporting documents are in order. Liaising with shipping companies in terms of when product will be expected in the various countries. Liaising with international companies placing orders, dealing with projects, enquiring about customer complaints. Monitoring stock levels and expiry dates and performing stock planning. Maintaining accurate up to date stock records of all stock. Observing minimum order quantities and lead times and ensuring minimum stock on hand as needed. Effectively and efficiently controlling the accuracy of stock. Liaising with transporters and raising purchase orders related to such. Updating customer pricing and price lists. Assisting the directors with doing research, setting reminders for tasks and following up to ensure tasks have been performed. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
