About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Somerset West. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, and providing expert advice to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Daily cashbook and bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations
- Responsible for customer invoicing/statements and collections
- Liaise with project office team with regards to raising PO’s/SO’s/Invoices
- Assist with the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices
- Prepare weekly/monthly payment runs and Intergroup transfers
- Liaise with suppliers and clients to resolve queries on accounts
- Review and management of all staff reimbursement claims
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, IFRS16 lease and loan amortization schedules
- Prepare Monthly Management Journals (Provisions/Accruals/Prepayments, etc.)
- Manage Intercompany loans, recharge invoices and reconciliations
- Prepare VAT submissions for review
- Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Prepare monthly reports for review (Divisional P&L’s, etc.)
- Support annual audit queries and requests
- Ad hoc tasks as requested from management
Requirements
- 2 – 4 years’ post study experience in a similar role
- Experience in a project driven organisation advantageous
- Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP systems)
- NetSuite experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- Completed Articles (SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA) advantageous
