About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Wellness Manager for a luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger, where you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the Wellness Centre and providing exceptional guest experiences. As a live-in role, this position is ideal for a hands-on, professional wellness leader with strong leadership skills and a passion for promoting guest wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Wellness Centre in the absence of the Wellness Manager
- Ensure all areas are clean, stocked, and maintained to high standards
- Implement opening and closing procedures for the Wellness Centre
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues
- Maintain correct ambiance, including music and environment, for a premium guest experience
- Maintain standard operating procedures and checklists
- Proactively engage with guests to promote Wellness Centre services
- Conduct all treatments according to internationally recognised standards
- Manage private villa bookings, yoga classes, and boutique sales
- Ensure guest safety, privacy, and confidentiality in line with POPIA and professional spa standards
- Host guests when required, providing a holistic and memorable wellness experience
- Assist guests in the salon, gym, and yoga areas
- Train, coach, and manage therapists, ensuring adherence to protocols and service standards
- Conduct performance reviews and manage underperformance in consultation with management
- Promote team spirit, motivation, and good communication
- Maintain understanding and implementation of all wellness offerings and special touches
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior wellness or spa management role within a luxury environment
- Strong knowledge of spa treatments, wellness therapies, and holistic approaches
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor and develop staff
- Attention to detail, organisation, and high standards of professionalism
- Flexible; proactive, and guest-focused
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a spa environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
