About the Role
Nelson Mandela University is seeking an Associate Professor in Multilingualism Education to join our faculty. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching English as a Home and Second Language at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as supervising postgraduate students in Language, Multilingualism, and Education Theory. You will also engage in research, community engagement, and curriculum development in the field of multilingualism.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach English as a Home & Second Language at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Teach English as a Foreign language at a postgraduate level.
• Teach Meta Theories in Language at a postgraduate level.
• Supervise postgraduate students in Language, Multilingualism and Education Theory.
• Engage in the assessment of School-Based Learning and Teaching.
• Publish and lead research in the field of Multilingualism.
• Participate in Community Engagement.
• Lead post graduate research and curriculum development in multilingualism in the faculty.
Requirements
• A relevant PhD degree within the field of Multilingualism or its equivalent.
• Experience (5-10 years) in the teaching of Multilingualism at a university level.
• A proven record of:
• Supervising M&D students to completion.
• Research productivity in and around the field of Multilingualism.
