Job Summary
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – Grade 12 – Minimum qualification: Relevant Diploma / NQF level 6 – Qualified Artisan (Boilermaker) with recognized trade certificate. – Up to 3 years experience in a similar role – Previous experience working in the logistics industry would be advantageous – Must be able to work under pressure DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: – Planning, Leading, Organizing and Control of the welding team, tools and equipment – Responsible for housekeeping and SHEQ in the welding shop – Managing of Job Cards – Aligning structures or plate sections to assemble metal frames – Performing routine maintenance on trailers and trucks metal works – Inspecting and repairing metal fittings, such as hanger brackets, bin frames, scissors arm, subframes and bin doors – Fabricating iron/steel plates and tubes for construction of trailer components, loader push pillar and grabs – Using torches, plasma cutters, or arc welding equipment to cut, bend, and shape metal pieces for assembly – Testing completed work to verify they are fit for operation – Installing pre-made components and assembling grabs, push pillars – Updating job knowledge continuously by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical drawing and participating in meetings ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted
