Job Summary

Basic duties include : Maintain financial transaction records by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal compliance. Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Prepare financial statements, such as ledgers, income statements, and balance sheets. Utilize the appropriate accounting software to manage and automate financial tasks when relevant. Assist with creating budgets, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports. Play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and aiding strategic decision-making. Main Responsibilities include: Financial Records: Maintain and update the company“s financial records and transactions. Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections. Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly. Payroll: Process payroll accurately and ensure timely tax payments. Reporting: Prepare and file tax returns, financial reports, and manage budgets and forecasts. Compliance: Conduct regular audits of financial processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support: Respond to financial inquiries and provide support to management. VAT Returns: Handle the processing of VAT returns and e-filing. Provide accurate, up-to-date financial information about the business. Cost Analysis and reporting on projects. Payroll and PAYE submissions. VAT and eFiling SARS submissions. Budgetting, financial risks, overhead spend control, future forecasting. Suggest and implement systems and controls.

Requirements:

Education: A post-matric qualification, preferably in Bookkeeping. Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting. Software Proficiency: Proficient Pastel and / or Xero and other cloud accounting tools. Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
