About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a motivated and hardworking Chef de Partie for a luxury safari lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve. This role is ideal for a chef with a solid foundation in professional kitchens who is eager to grow within a high-end lodge environment and deliver consistently high-quality meals to international guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard under the guidance of the Head Chef
  • Take responsibility for a specific section within the kitchen
  • Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation
  • Assist with daily mise en place, service, and plating for all meal services
  • Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and wastage reduction
  • Support junior kitchen staff and work as part of a cohesive team

Requirements

  • Formal culinary qualification advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef in a luxury lodge environment – essential
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
  • Passion for cooking, learning, and delivering quality food
  • Willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment

Qualifications

  • Formal culinary qualification advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef in a luxury lodge environment – essential

Salary & Benefits

Salary: R7,000 – R8,000 per month (depending on experience)

Single Live-in accommodation

Meals provided on duty
