About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Chef de Partie to join our luxury safari lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality meals to international guests while working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard under the guidance of the Head Chef
- Take responsibility for a specific section within the kitchen
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation
- Assist with daily mise en place, service, and plating for all meal services
- Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards are maintained at all times
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and wastage reduction
- Support junior kitchen staff and work as part of a cohesive team
- Adapt to lodge-style service including plated meals, buffets, and bush dining
Requirements
- Formal culinary qualification advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef in a luxury lodge environment – essential
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
- Passion for cooking, learning, and delivering quality food
- Willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment

- Salary: R7,000 – R8,000 per month (depending on experience)
