Our client, a busy luxury 5 star safari lodge located within the Greater Kruger region of Mpumalanga, is seeking a dedicated and professional couple to join their dynamic team in the roles of Front of House Manager and Guide–Maintenance Supervisor. This exciting opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced, forward-thinking couple who thrives in a remote luxury safari environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high operational standards. The roles require a hands-on, adaptable approach, combining guest interaction, management support, leadership, guiding, and lodge maintenance oversight within a fast-paced safari operation. Clear criminal record; Excellent employment track record – references will be checked; Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; Matric certificate; Previous lodge experience in a high-end / luxury environment; People / Hosting skills; Valid driver’s licence & own transport () Excellent administrative skills; Excellent computer skills using various Microsoft packages – word and excel and outlook; Financial mindset; : Experience with Res Request – FGASA Trails Guide (NQF 2 / NQF 4) ‘Back Up level’; First Aid; NDT; Rifle competencies: 117705, 119651, 123519; Good admin skills for month end reporting; Good to fair maintenance background re. vehicles and lodge maintenance – Formal qualifications are not essential, but good practical skills / experience are key; All guiding qualifications and relevant memberships must be up to date; : FGASA Professional (Trails) Guide; SAPS competency certificate; SANParks orientation assessment A strong work ethic with a hands-on, proactive approach to daily operations; Honest, reliable and effective communicators with the ability to multitask and maintain a high level of attention to detail; Self-motivated, fit, and energetic, with a confident, people-centric manner and strong interpersonal skills; Flexible team players who are willing to assist across departments as required, and who demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving abilities; Demonstrate flexibility with working hours and a strong commitment to operational excellence; Of sober habits and a non-smokers, with the resilience to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced lodge environment Daily front of house duties – office admin related work, check in and out of guests etc; Hosting of guests on a rotational basis, oversee of housekeeping & allocation of tasks, room checks, Curio shop sales and stocks, monthly stock takes of housekeeping and curio departments, Assistance in helping with bush events such as drinks set up etc; Confidently communicate telephonically and with email, also when interacting with guests at the lodge; Any other ad hoc duties reasonably associated with the role – Lodge & vehicle related maintenance – ability to lead a team, proactively identify issues, and carry out basic repairs; Game drives; Lead / back up bush walks in a Big 5 area; Month end reporting; Potentially – hosting of guests on a rotational basis; Any other ad hoc duties reasonably associated with the role / / Gross salary: Approximately R26 – R30, 000.00 p/m NEG. DOE & qualifications; Accommodation: Private room en-site; basic furnishings; Meals provided; Uniform and laundry thereof; Gratuities – Part of the lodge general staff tip pool; Work / leave cycle: 6 weeks on 2 weeks off plus 21 annual leave days This is unfortunately not an Expat / family / pet friendly position.
