COUPLE POSITION (GUIDE; ASS MANAGER; FOH/DUTY MANAGER): SALARY TBC Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for a GUIDE, ASSISTANT MANAGER and FOH/DUTY MANAGER for our Client at a Big-5 Private Game Reserve in the Hluhluwe area of KwaZulu-Natal. One of these positions should be a couple due to accommodation, the combination for the couple could be either of the below roles: Field Guide Assistant manager FOH/Duty Manager This 23,000-hectare Private Game Reserve is situated 30kms north of the famous Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park in an area renowned for its wildlife and rich cultural heritage. The Lodge has a reputation for excellent customer service and superior value for money. The Client has a small, dedicated team working closely with each other and therefore it is essential that the ideal candidates possess a friendly, positive demeanour and attitude. Requirements: Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience Assistant Manager Valid drivers license Valid first aid level 1 (preferred) Previous working experience in similar role Experience on Microsoft office programmes (Excel is a must) Guide Valid PDP and drivers license Valid first aid Level 1 minimum DEAT registered FGASA Level 1 (minimum) Previous working experience (minimum) All our guides also form part of the maintenance team and therefore some experience with maintenance is essential FOH/Duty Manager Valid drivers license Valid first aid level 1 (preferred) Previous working experience in similar role Experience on Microsoft office programmes (Excel is a must) General; Key Performance Areas *Including but not exclusive to the following: Assistant Manager Proactively manage camp issues and use initiative while working alone and under pressure Energetic; friendly individual, eager to learn, hands on, manage staff staff confidently and respectfully Oversee the entire camp operations and maintain standards implemented Daily admin tasks such as stats, weekly orders, stock sheets and counts, petty cash, invoicing for check out guests Service of guests meals, including providing support to the FOH team by assisting with the meal set ups and service, ensuring service is run smoothly Check in of guests upon arrival – room checks for arrivals Oversee Housekeeping and Food and Beverage team Daily menu planning with Chefs according to dietary requirements and ensuring no repeats of menu items Source new goods for the lodge Implement new protocols Receive deliveries and capturing stock on the system Ensure the guest experience is of high standard and priority Oversee general maintenance and cleanliness of lodge and guests rooms Guide Guest services Administration Welcome and check in guests Co-ordinate guest activities, bush experience and special occasions Prepare rosters and oversee daily tasks Manage stock control/lodge consumables and inventory Monitor infrastructure conditions and co-ordinate maintenance Oversee and manage general lodge maintenance eg infrastructure, gardens, vehicles, general Guest hosting Guiding of international guests Ensure operational readiness of equipment Bush clearing FOH/Duty Manager Use initiative and work independently Be a strong support and relief to the assistant manager and work well under pressure Daily admin tasks eg stats, weekly orders, stock sheets and counts, petty cash, invoicing for check out guests Service of guests meals, including providing support to the FOH team by assisting with the meal set ups and service, ensuring service is run smoothly Check in of guests upon arrival Room checks for arrivals Oversee Housekeeping and Food and Beverage team Daily menu planning with Chefs according to dietary requirements and ensuring no repeats of menu items Source new goods for the lodge Implement new protocols Receive deliveries and capturing of stock on the system Oversee general maintenance and cleanliness of lodge and guests rooms Personal/Professional Attributes Professional; hard-working work ethos Friendly; positive demeanour and attitude Energetic proactive attitude Committed to continual learning Fully hands-on while committed to serving and supporting the team Well-developed people skills Confident in managing staff with firm, empathetic and respectful leadership Strong leadership skills Good time management skills Good organisation and administration skills Creative out the box thinking Good use of initiative – A problem solver Ability to manage and cope with pressure in a positive and constructive manner Comfortable and skilled in working independent without supervision and being monitored Strong guest-centred abilities while being relaxed and confident in entertaining guests Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong personal values system Able to discern and separate work from personal Remuneration and Package Further details of salary and package will be discussed at the Client interview Guide salary: R9000 depending on experience Assistant Manager salary: R14000 depending on experience FOH/Duty Manager salary: R10000 depending on experience *All above mentioned candidates will have the following benefits included in their package: Meals while on duty A variety of groceries are supplied while off shift Live in position Compulsory provident fund and gratuities 3 weeks on and 1 week off cycle 18 days annual leave per year.
