As a Credit & Pricing Analyst, you will sit at the heart of our commercial engine-driving profitability, shaping strategy, and improving credit performance across multiple African markets. Reporting to the Group Head of Credit, you will lead the analysis and modelling that power our pricing and credit decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Drive Profitability: Build, monitor, and refine pricing models to achieve margin targets and model P&L sensitivity across pricing, credit rules, and commissions.
• Forecast Credit Performance: Develop forecasting models for repayment behaviour, portfolio losses, and key credit metrics that guide planning and decision-making.
• Strengthen Credit Risk Models: Analyse customer and behavioural data to enhance scorecards, risk buckets, and automated underwriting systems.
• Innovate: Prototype new analytical and machine-learning approaches to unlock new opportunities for efficiency and growth.
• Deliver Insights: Investigate portfolio trends, identify drivers of performance, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to in-country teams.
• Own Outcomes: Partner with operations and sales teams to ensure your models deliver real commercial impact-not just theoretical results.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
• Proficiency in Python or R (pandas, scikit-learn, seaborn, etc.).
• Experience building credit scorecards, pricing models, or financial forecasting tools.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Willingness to travel to operating markets and collaborate with local teams.
• 2-5 years’ experience in credit risk, pricing, data science, or related roles (fintech/lending preferred).
