Chemical Process and Energy sectors company, has a fixed-term (12-24 months) contract position available for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician. Requirements, include a Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the process engineering industry, Age not exceeding 28 years, and Fluency in Afrikaans (due to similarity to Dutch), as technical manuals are in Dutch and a Dutch language course will be provided.

Remuneration: Capped at 4171.00 p.m.

Requirements:

• Not older than 28
• Speak Afrikaans fluently
• You have completed a technical education in the direction of E/I with at least a national diploma (NATED N3)
• Minimum 5 years experience as technician in process and energy sectors
• You are in possession of VCA
• Maintenance experience within the process industry
• Demonstrable knowledge of NEN 3140
• Result-oriented
• Able to communicate clearly – Professional English language
• You are able to solve problems
• Can work independently as well as in a team
• Prepared to follow specific internal training courses

Duties:

Responsible for solving malfunctions and performing repairs/revisions to sensors and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and digital), to process control systems (DCS/PLC) and to E-distributors and motors on through preventive/predicative plans and notifications.

• Ensure that the activities assigned to you are properly performed and that they are neatly fed back and processed in the maintenance system;
• Participate in the on-call service
• Have the drive to continuously improve
• Responsible for the installation you are working on
• Able to make independent decisions regarding repairs and solving malfunctions within the plant
