To be discussed in the Interview Vacancy Type: Full-Time Closing date for applications: End Dec 2024 Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 1-10 years of experience in exterior or structural design within the shipbuilding or marine industry. Proficiency in CAD software, hydrodynamic simulation tools, and structural analysis programs. Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands. Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken). Beneficial requirements: Knowledge of maritime regulations and standards for vessel construction and safety. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Duties and responsibilities: Design and develop the exterior surfaces and structures of vessels, ensuring hydrodynamic performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate aesthetic, functional, and structural requirements for vessel exteriors. Conduct simulations and tests to assess the performance of hull designs and materials in various environmental conditions. Oversee material selection for exterior components to ensure resistance to corrosion, environmental wear, and mechanical stress. Ensure all designs comply with safety and regulatory requirements, coordinating approvals as necessary. By submitting your information and application you hereby confirm: 1.
