Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to join our team. As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our agricultural farm, focusing on beef farming and cropping management. You will report directly to the Manager and ensure the efficient running of daily activities on the farm. Duties and responsibilities: Manage and supervise all farm activities Implement and monitor farming schedules Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment Monitor crop production and livestock management Implement health and safety regulations Manage budget and financial planning for the farm The successful candidate will have extensive experience in agriculture, particularly in beef farming and cropping management. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential for this role.

Job Description

About the Role

The Farm Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our lodges’ infrastructure and farm environment, requiring strong practical skills and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of guest areas, staff housing, roads, fences, and utilities
  • Manage building, renovation, and construction projects (intermediate/advanced level)
  • Supervise water systems, generators, pumps, solar systems, electrical and plumbing upkeep
  • Operate and maintain large vehicles (tractors, trucks, game-drive vehicles)
  • Supervise contractors and manage stock/materials ordering
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards
  • Liaise with lodge management for operational coordination

Requirements

  • Trade qualification (electrician, plumber, builder, etc.)
  • Experience in game reserve or safari lodge operations
  • Health & safety or first-aid certification
  • Strong hands-on skills: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general repairs
  • Building and construction knowledge
  • Valid drivers licence (Code 10/14 advantageous)
  • Independent problem-solver, adaptable to remote environments
  • Strong people management and communication skills
