The Role: Financial Controller This is a hands-on financial role offering wide exposure across the business. From managing supplier invoices and payroll to producing management accounts and assisting with audits, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of core financial operations. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a remote, independent work setup. Key Responsibilities Minimum 3 years experience in a similar financial or accounting role Manage and process purchase ledger: invoice approvals, postings, and supplier payments Support and help run payroll across all staff Assist with preparation of management accounts and year-end audits Use Excel to produce reports and complete key financial tasks Monitor and improve finance processes, offering creative, practical suggestions Handle ad hoc financial duties as required About You 3 years’ relevant experience in finance or accounting Strong Excel skills and solid numeracy Self-starter who manages time and workload independently Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment Can-do attitude and decision-focused mindset Able to work effectively and communicate clearly in a remote setting Accountancy qualifications are desirable but not essential if you bring the right skills and experience Team player who collaborates well across departments and contributes to overall business improvement

Own the Numbers: Process daily and monthly financial transactions with precision, ensuring every document and approval is in place. Keep Suppliers Happy: Manage supplier accounts, reconcile statements, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate smooth payment cycles. Drive Payments: Assist in preparing payment batches, set up beneficiaries, and guarantee accurate remittance details for suppliers. Stay Cash-Savvy: Oversee petty cash checks, reconcile bank activity, and keep cash flow records up to date. Payroll Partner: Submit monthly payroll inputs and support payroll-related admin to keep the team paid on time. Bill Like a Pro: Prepare customer invoices, assist with monthly billing runs, and monitor debtor ageing to flag risks early. Protect Assets: Support asset and stock management through spot checks and timely record updates. Be Audit-Ready: Organize financial records, maintain filing systems, and ensure documentation is accurate and compliant. Master Compliance: Process VAT details correctly and assist with customs submissions when needed. Champion Controls: Follow financial policies, approval workflows, and internal control procedures consistently. Support Audits: Compile schedules and respond to external audit queries with confidence. Team Player: Jump in on ad-hoc financial tasks and data requests to keep the finance engine running smoothly.
