REQUIREMENTS

• A South African Cook/ Chef with experience in Continental and/or Italian cuisine
• A relevant culinary qualification or solid, proven experience
• Someone who enjoys adding creative African-influenced elements to dishes
• Strong kitchen leadership experience – able to guide rather than re-create the wheel
• Hands-on, calm under pressure, and confident in managing a busy service
• Passionate about quality, consistency and guest experience
• A team builder who enjoys uplifting and developing staff
• Willing and excited to relocate to Mauritius

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, guide and uplift an already strong and cohesive kitchen team
• Maintain and refine the restaurants Continental/ Italian-influenced menu, adding light African-style touches where appropriate
• Ensure consistent quality, plating standards and smooth kitchen operations
• Train staff on new dishes, preparation techniques and kitchen best practices
• Oversee inventory, stock levels, ordering and supplier relationships
• Uphold hygiene, safety and food-handling standards at all times
• Collaborate with management on menu planning, specials and seasonal updates
