About the Role
Bushwise, a renowned 5-star lodge, is seeking an experienced and skilled Head Guide to lead our team of Field Guides. As the head of management, coordination, and supervision, you will be responsible for ensuring the exceptional guest experience and driving the success of our safari operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, coordinate, and supervise all Field Guides from various camps.
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests to maximize their enjoyment.
- Coordinate ongoing training and unit standard maintenance of rangers’ qualifications and certifications.
- Assist in emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, and environmental activities.
- Lead under challenging circumstances, such as fires or logistical support.
Requirements
- Matric
- FGASA level 2 or higher
- First Aid level 2 (Minimum)
- Handle and use of a Manually Operated Rifle, shotgun, and Carbine for Business Purposes SAQA ID 123519
- NDT registered
- Lead trails qualification
- Valid Advanced Rifle Handling qualification is essential
- Minimum 5 years of Big 5 African Safari guiding experience
- Minimum 2 years of assistant head ranger or head ranger experience is essential
- English literacy level: Excellent command of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Valid drivers licence and PrDP.
