Responsibilities:

Oversee and maintain safari vehicles, ensuring they are always in top condition. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all lodge equipment. Manage a team of assistant mechanics, providing guidance and training. Diagnose mechanical issues and implement timely repairs. Maintain a detailed log of all maintenance and repair activities. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Perform welding and minor bodywork. Service vehicles according to the established preventive maintenance schedule. Rotate and balance tires; change oil and filters; lubricate vehicle parts; inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels. Inspect vehicles and evaluate the condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and lights; service as needed. Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the general manager immediately. Keep equipment and tools in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service. Qualifications: Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with experience in off-road and 4×4 vehicles. Two years of experience as a mechanic. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a remote setting. Certification in automotive repair or a related field is preferred. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs. Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair. Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts.
