Sales at The President Hotel isnt about hard selling or sitting behind a desk. Its about relationships, reputation, and representing a hotel experience people genuinely want to book, return to, and recommend. This role sits right at the heart of that journey. We are looking for an energetic, relationship-driven and experienced Hotel Sales Manager to grow leisure business through tour operators, DMCs, travel agents, and wholesale partners. This is a hands-on, outward-facing hotel sales role for someone who enjoys being in the market, hosting site inspections, attending events, and building partnerships that last. Youll feel right at home if you bring proven hotel sales experience, understand the Cape Town tourism and travel trade market, and enjoy working with the people who shape where and how guests travel. Hotel sales experience within the leisure travel trade is essential. Minimum Requirements Matric/Grade 12 Qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, Sales, or Marketing Min 3 years proven experience in hotel sales (leisure-focused preferred) Strong understanding of the Cape Town tourism and travel trade market Existing relationships with tour operators, DMCs, travel agents, or wholesalers Experience negotiating STO contracts and preferred agreements Commercially minded with confident negotiation skills Comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal teams Working knowledge of Opera Cloud, Lanyon, Revinate, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word CV must be fully updated prior to submission Key Responsibilities Growing the Fun (and the Revenue) Drive leisure revenue through tour operators, DMCs, travel agents, and wholesale partners Identify and unlock new local and international business opportunities Keep The President Hotel visible, relevant, and desirable in key source markets Being the Face of the Hotel Host engaging site inspections that showcase the hotels rooms, views, and personality Represent the hotel at trade shows, workshops, and industry events Host familiarisation trips and educational visits that turn partners into advocates Build strong, long-term relationships across the travel trade Making the Deals Happen Negotiate and manage STO contracts and preferred agreements Work closely with Revenue to align commercial decisions with demand and strategy Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing movements Working the Strategy Collaborate with Revenue, Reservations, and Marketing teams to align sales activity Share market insight that helps shape campaigns, promotions, and positioning Contribute ideas that support the hotels journey toward luxury Keeping It Professional Manage accounts, pipelines, and follow-ups with structure and consistency Track and report on sales performance, production, and opportunities Maintain accurate records and proactive account management Key Skills & Attributes Naturally outgoing and relationship-driven Confident; engaging, and professional communicator Energetic; positive, and solutions-oriented Commercially sharp with good business instincts Organised enough to manage detail, flexible enough to move fast Comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team Why Work With Us Represent one of Cape Towns most recognisable and loved hotels Be part of a passionate, supportive, and forward-thinking Commercial team Enjoy a role with real variety – travel, hosting, events, and strategy Play an active role in a hotel on a clear journey toward luxury Competitive salary and employee benefits Recruitment is aligned with the companys Employment Equity Plan .
