About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Junior / Canteen Chef to join our luxury boutique lodge in the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. As part of our team, you will be responsible for preparing daily staff meals, supporting the main kitchen team, and contributing to an exceptional guest experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Chef to gain hands-on experience within a luxury lodge environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, well-balanced staff meals on time each day
- Assist senior chefs with basic prep, mise en place, and kitchen organisation
- Manage stock for staff meals and minimise wastage
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the staff kitchen
- Follow daily cleaning schedules and hygiene standards
- Support general kitchen organisation and waste management
Requirements
- Recent culinary graduate (2 years’ experience in a kitchen environment)
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Understanding or speaking of the Afrikaans language
- Valid driver’s licence

Salary & Benefits
- Gross monthly salary of R7, 000.00

Working Conditions
- Remote, on-site living position with single accommodation
- Candidates must be comfortable living in a quiet, rural environment
- Due to the nature of the accommodation and operational requirements: family, children and pets cannot be accommodated
- Must have access to Whatsapp video / Zoom / Microsoft Teams for initial interviews
