About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lodge Manager to oversee the daily operations of a small, luxury 5-star lodge in KwaZulu-Natal. This intimate camp accommodates only 10 guests, supported by a team of 22 staff, and includes a small stand-alone one-bedroom managers house. The successful candidate will ensure exceptional guest experiences, efficient management of staff and resources, and the smooth running of all lodge operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of lodge operations, including guest services, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance Lead;
  • Motivate, and develop staff to ensure high-performance and excellent service delivery;
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards;
  • Oversee budgets, cost control, and financial reporting;
  • Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction and address guest feedback or complaints effectively;
  • Coordinate schedules, staff rosters, and training programmes;
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and encourage teamwork;
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and external stakeholders as required;
  • Monitor and maintain lodge facilities, equipment, and vehicles.

Requirements

  • Senior management experience in a 5-star lodge or luxury hospitality establishment;
  • Previous experience managing a small luxury lodge or boutique 5-star property preferred;
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills;
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and operational costs;
  • Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high-profile guests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Salary & Benefits

Salary is negotiable depending on experience, ranging from R20,000 to R25,000 per annum.
