Qualifications & Critical Criteria (Requirements) Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing (Red Seal preferred) Additional leadership, supervisory, or OHS training advantageous Minimum 5 years’ experience in building maintenance , Hospital Maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Hospitality or luxury property experience strongly preferred Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems Proven leadership ability with experience in delegation, scheduling, and team motivation Proficiency in CMMS systems (OMNI, INFOR, HotSOS) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage Must hold a valid South African ID Key Competencies 🔹 Technical Expertise – Skilled in multi-trade maintenance and fault finding 🔹 Leadership & Supervision – Ability to inspire, coach, and manage a team effectively 🔹 Operational Discipline – Strong focus on scheduling, task tracking, and compliance 🔹 Safety & Compliance Focus – Upholding the highest OHS and hotel safety standards 🔹 Guest-Centric Approach – Maintaining discretion and professionalism in guest areas Duties & Responsibilities Team Supervision & Scheduling : Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, conduct briefings, and ensure attendance and conduct standards Technical Oversight : Guide technicians in troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues; review completed work for quality and safety Preventive & Reactive Maintenance : Ensure PPM schedules are met; manage reactive maintenance tasks via OMNI with timely follow-up and closure Safety, Compliance & Standards : Enforce health and safety regulations; conduct risk assessments and incident reports when required Inventory & Tools Management : Oversee tools, equipment, and consumables; ensure accountability and readiness of resources Interdepartmental Coordination : Act as the point of contact for other departments; coordinate access for maintenance tasks in guest and public areas Training & Development : Mentor junior staff, correct unsafe practices, and identify skills gaps for training Administrative Duties : Maintain handover logs, submit daily reports, and ensure compliance documentation is accurate and up to date Guest Area Protocol : Ensure professional conduct, privacy, and minimal disruption during maintenance in guest spaces Package on Offer Basic salary (TBA) 50/50 contribution to Pension Company contribution to medical aid Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant trade qualifications and supervisory experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will be required to attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the company’s Employment Equity Plan About the President Hotel The President Hotel is on a journey to be considered a true luxury destination.
