Job Description

Operations Manager Laureate Private Resorts, the umbrella company of the 5-star Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel, La Baleine Beach House Collection, and Cottage Collection in Paternoster, is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and hands-on leader to join our exceptional team. As Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role within a loyal, passionate, and service-driven team dedicated to creating unforgettable guest experiences. We pride ourselves on delivering warm, authentic hospitality with a can-do attitude, and we are looking for a leader who shares this commitment to excellence. Role Overview This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the smooth day-to-day operations of the property. You will ensure that all operational, service, and brand standards are consistently met and exceeded, while fostering a positive, high-performance team culture. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily operations, including guest relations, staffing, housekeeping, and general property maintenance Work closely with centralised reservations and administrative departments to ensure seamless operations Actively manage, motivate, coach, train, and support all team members, addressing performance and development needs where required Conduct HR-related functions, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and performance management Ensure adherence to company standards, procedures, and service excellence guidelines across all departments Maintain accurate records relating to stock control, stocktaking, and operating equipment Proactively manage guest needs and expectations, building strong and lasting guest relationships Take ownership of guest satisfaction and online reputation management, with a focus on maintaining and growing review scores across multiple platforms Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that every guest interaction contributes to a memorable seaside experience. Requirements Reliable, honest, and responsible with strong leadership capabilities Minimum of four (4) years’ senior-level management experience, preferably within luxury hospitality A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service Strong planning, delegation, and decision-making skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and collaborate across departments Sound understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures Proficient in English (written and verbal) Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) Booking system experience advantageous, ideally Opera Cloud Physically fit and able to be actively present throughout the property Flexible and willing to work weekends and public holidays as operationally required.
