About the Role

We are seeking a fast-paced, detail-oriented Travel Intern with a strong administrative background and passion for the travel industry to join our team as a remote intern. As an integral part of our luxury travel company, you will assist with administrative and operational tasks within the travel team, providing hands-on experience in travel operations, itinerary preparation, supplier communication, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative and operational tasks within the travel team
  • Update pre-travel documents and intranet records (update, safari details, etc.)
  • Create itineraries in Axus and Safari Portal based on costing and invoices
  • Track confirmed bookings in Excel and remind consultants of deposit/balance due dates
  • Open client/support WhatsApp groups one week before travel
  • Collect client information, check passports, visas, and Cape Town Touring completion
  • Monitor client folders and notify consultants of missing information
  • Communicate with suppliers to request final confirmations/vouchers
  • Support data entry, filing, and document management
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and organized
  • Provide general support to travel consultants

Requirements

  • Preference to hospitality or tourism graduates
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Safari Portal proficiency is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn fast
  • Interest in travel, tourism, or hospitality

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)

Salary & Benefits

  • Probation (first 3 months): R3000.00 per month
  • After probation (next 12 months): R9000.00 per month
  • Microsoft Office license
  • Stationery allowance up to R2000.00/year
  • 1 FAM trip per year (up to 6 nights, single accommodation)
