About the Role
J D Specialized Recruitment is seeking an experienced Safari Travel Planner I to join a dynamic, Africa-focused travel company. This role involves designing, quoting, booking, and managing tailor-made safari itineraries, delivering seamless travel experiences through strong destination knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage tailor-made safari itineraries from initial enquiry to post-travel feedback
- Engage directly with clients to understand preferences, travel style, and budget
- Prepare accurate quotes, costings, and confirmations using internal systems
- Liaise with lodges, DMCs, and transfer suppliers to secure availability and bookings
- Coordinate logistics and ensure all arrangements are reconfirmed prior to travel
- Provide in-travel support and handle changes or issues professionally
Requirements
- 5 years plus of experience as a Safari Planner or Travel Consultant
- Strong knowledge of East and Southern African safari destinations
- Experience with quoting, booking systems, and itinerary preparation
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
