Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture or a Master’s in Yacht Design from a (South African Qualifications Authority) SAQA-accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience in marine or yacht design.
• Practical sailing experience and strong understanding of vessel operations.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D CAD), AutoCAD (or equivalent) and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Familiarity with naval architecture analysis tools (FEA, stability software).
• Knowledge of South African maritime regulations (SAMSA) and international conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL).
• Registration (or candidacy) with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a professional engineer and/or membership of a recognised naval architecture body is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
