About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and talented Sous Chef to join our high-volume steakhouse and seafood restaurant in Gansbaai. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will assist the Exec Chef with daily operations and lead a team of 16. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Exec Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Lead a team of 16 kitchen staff
- Manage hot kitchen, cold kitchen, and pastry sections
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Control inventory levels and manage stock
- Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving measures
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years’ professional culinary experience in a similar high-volume UPMAKET Seafood & Steakhouse Restaurant
- Strong background in busy à la carte restaurant environments
- Proven experience managing multiple sections of the kitchen
- Solid seafood knowledge and strong meat cutting and portion control skills
- Experience with menu costing, stock management, and food cost control
Qualifications
- Culinary Arts Diploma or Certificate
