Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef Breakfast to oversee breakfast operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, service efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef and F&B team to deliver a seamless breakfast experience for all hotel guests. Critical Criteria (Requirements) Minimum 35 years experience in a Sous Chef role, preferably focused on breakfast or a similar F&B outlet in a 4/5-star hotel or luxury resort Proven experience in supervising kitchen teams and managing high-volume breakfast operations Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards Culinary qualification or diploma advantageous Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment South African citizen with a valid ID Key Competencies 🔹 Guest-Centric Culinary Excellence Ensures all breakfast cuisine meets luxury hospitality standards 🔹 Team Leadership & Development Supervises, mentors, and motivates breakfast kitchen staff 🔹 Operational Precision Plans, organises, and executes breakfast service efficiently 🔹 Quality & Safety Compliance Maintains strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health standards 🔹 Collaboration & Problem Solving Works closely with F&B, service, and kitchen teams to deliver a seamless breakfast experience Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef in planning and preparing breakfast menus Supervise breakfast operations, ensuring timely, high-quality food production Manage and coach junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs and culinary standards Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control during service Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations Collaborate with F&B and service teams to ensure smooth coordination during breakfast service Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of breakfast ingredients Support continuous improvement of culinary techniques, workflows, and guest satisfaction Live and promote the hotels values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Package on Offer Basic salary (TBA) 50/50 contribution to Pension Company contribution to medical aid Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant breakfast Sous Chef experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan Lead the breakfast culinary team and help create memorable mornings for guests at Cape Towns most loved hotel.
