Generally, accountants in South Africa can expect to earn salaries within a broad range of R400 000 to R800 000 per annum, although this figure can vary widely depending on factors such as experience, company size, industry sector, and specific job requirements. For instance, entry-level positions may start around R250 000 per annum, while senior roles in large corporations can exceed R1 million per year.
Common skills required for an accounting role typically include a strong foundation in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management.
