Job Summary

BookkeeperStellenbosch, WCR 20 000 R 23 000 RequirementsMinimum 5 years experience in a bookkeeping or similar roleRelevant accounting qualification or certificationProficiency in Pastel, Xero, and QuickBooksExcellent understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principlesStrong communication skills in English and AfrikaansAbility to work independently and within a teamOwn transport and valid drivers licenseWillingness to work overtime to meet client deadlinesAbility to manage pressure and meet strict deadlinesDutiesDay-to-day bookkeeping tasks (accounts payable/receivable, general ledger)Bank and credit card reconciliationsPreparation and review of financial reports and summariesMonth-end and year-end processesWriting up complex accounting records on Pastel and XeroMonthly bookkeeping and VAT reviews for SAIPA traineesMonthly Debtors and Creditors reconciliations and training for SAIPA traineesVAT and other SARS calculations and submissionsPreparation and review of management accountsSupervision and support of SAIPA traineesAssistance and training on SARS submissions and bookkeeping tasksPreparation of accounting work for annual financial statementsReview of work before partner sign-offEvaluation and implementation of internal controlsDirect client interaction and relationship management.
