Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a Gardens Supervisor to join a luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the estate gardens, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standard, and leading a team to deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all equipment is maintained regularly to guarantee safe and optimal performance

• Conduct regular quality checks on work carried out by employees

• Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing parts as required

• Allocate tasks effectively according to individual abilities

• Apply knowledge of gardening techniques, plant care, and flower care

• Maintain gardening equipment and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers

• Operate professional mowing, trimming, and pruning equipment

• Monitor and maintain plant health

• Identify and manage pest problems to prevent damage to plants

• Keep gardens and green spaces tidy, free of debris and litter

Requirements:

• 23 years experience as a Gardens Supervisor

• Valid drivers licence

• Familiarity with landscaping design

• Extensive knowledge of regional plant life

• Knowledge of local pests and effective elimination methods

• Understanding of synthetic and natural fertilisers

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to landscaping

• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and remain standing for extended periods

• Passion for the outdoors and plant life

• Ability to work independently and under pressure

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Honesty and trustworthiness

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
