About the Role
Our Belgian client is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join their Stellenbosch-based team. As a rapidly growing international organisation, they deliver innovative storage solutions through efficient, automated production processes. The company’s in-house manufactured product ranges support customers in meeting complex logistical challenges globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete structural calculations during the pre-design phase at quotation stage
- Prepare static calculation documentation upon project delivery
- Contribute to the development of calculation algorithms and maintain databases within calculation software used
- Perform stability calculations according to prevailing standards for steel structures (Eurocode and rack-specific EN standards) with regard to safety and stability, valid for the country concerned
- Explain and maintain calculations if necessary
- Responsible for testing materials and management and interpretation of tests performed
- Software development in collaboration with external parties to standardize certain calculation processes
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil or relevant)
- At least five years of relevant experience (calculations for warehouse and racking solutions)
- Fluent in Italian and English
- Proficient in typical CAD software
- Familiarity with mechanical calculations for racking, earthquake stability
