Tzaneen: Accountant

This role supports the financial operations of a well-established agricultural business with on-the-ground operations in Limpopo and reporting lines into a regional head office. The Accountant will play a key role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate, timely insights to support operational and strategic objectives. The position offers hands-on exposure to operational finance, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity reporting within a stable organisation that is part of a broader regional group. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Compile management accounts and reporting packs with variance analysis Maintain general ledger, journals, accruals, and month-end/year-end close Manage accounts payable, receivable, and intercompany reconciliations Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure statutory compliance Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow reporting Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation, and inventory accounting Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Provide financial insights to support operational and management teams Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: BCom Accounting degree or Accounting diploma (minimum requirement) Experience: 35 years experience in an accounting or financial reporting role Proven experience with management accounts and month-end close Exposure to operational environments such as agriculture or manufacturing is advantageous Experience working with remote or head-office reporting structures Skills: Advanced Excel Experience with accounting systems (SAGE 200 / SAGE Evolution advantageous) Other Non-Negotiables: Based in South Africa Ability to work on-site in Limpopo or remotely, with occasional travel Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Apply now!
