About the Role
GAP Consulting is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team in Cape Town, Western Cape. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and assisting with financial tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month end processes and management accounts
- Provide basic bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Process payroll and manage client communications
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Utilize cloud-based accounting systems (Xero) for data entry and management
Requirements
- Completed BCom Accounting Degree or other relevant Tertiary Accounting Qualification
- Open to recent graduates or candidates with a maximum of 2 years experience within the accounting industry
- Exposure to tax administration and compliance
- Basic understanding of management accounts and month end processes
- Working knowledge of Xero
- Payroll processing exposure, preferably Karbon Payroll
- Tax returns, VAT processing, reconciliations, and management accounts support
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
