About the Role
GAP Consulting, SA’s Premium Recruitment Consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Food Safety Coordinator to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and managing supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Manage warehouse food safety systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to prevent non-conformance
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and food safety protocols
- Develop and maintain records of food safety audits, inspections, and incidents
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure efficient receipt and storage of products
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Food Safety Coordinator in a warehousing or distribution environment within the FMCG industry
- BSc or National Diploma in Food Science or Food Technology (or relevant tertiary education)
- Proficient in ERP systems essential for food safety management
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety and Supplier & Product Compliance, including warehouse food safety and risk awareness
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and own transport required
- Contactable references and payslips required
