Job Summary
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop wet and fire protection system designs based on project specifications and requirements.
- Create detailed drawings, schematics, and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software or traditional drafting methods.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire protection codes, regulations, and standards.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary data and assess project requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to select appropriate wet and fire protection system components.
- Prepare material take-offs and assist with cost estimation.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to identify potential clashes or conflicts with wet and fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with other design disciplines to coordinate system integration.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Draughtsperson in wet and fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- In-depth knowledge of wet and fire protection system design principles, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with building construction processes and terminology.
- Knowledge of hydraulic calculations and fire suppression system design.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
